GMC Takes Safety to a New Level

The Rear Seat Reminder feature will make its debut in the new 2017 GMC Acadia models and will become a desirable feature in the SUV.

With this new feature, we are leading the charge to address this ongoing problem.”

Well the new reminder system monitors the GMC Acadia’s rear doors. It can detect if either rear door is opened or closed within 10 minutes of your Acadia starting. It can also detect your rear doors while the vehicle is running. Once the Acadia is turned off a message will display across the driver’s information center that reads “Rear Seat Reminder/ Look in Rear Seat”.

Chevrolet Took the Lead in J.D. Power Initial Quality Study

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – After being put to the test, Chevrolet took the lead in J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study for the fourth consecutive year in a row. Out of the brands tested, no one had more awards than Chevrolet. Five of Chevy’s vehicles were awarded for their high quality and dependability in their segments. Full Size Truck Segment: Chevrolet Silverado 1500 received top remarks for light duty trucks, and the Silverado HD received top remarks for heavy duty trucks.

Compact SUV Segment: The Chevrolet Equinox tied for the lead, and resulted in 15 points better than the segment average.

Large SUV Segment: Chevrolet’s Tahoe received top remarks and resulted in 19 points above the segment average.

City Car Segment: The leading contender in this segment was the Chevrolet Spark, having a dominating 48 points higher than the segment average.

The J.D. Power Initial Quality Study researches vehicles over a 90 day period. The study is devised into eight different categories including: exterior, interior, seats, driving experience, engine/transmission, and more. The initial quality is determined by the number of problems that are experienced every 10 vehicles. The model with the lowest score reflects the highest quality. These tests were fielded from February to May of 2016 when Chevrolet took the lead in J.D. Power Initial Quality Study.

Now Cadillac offers a new way for passengers to get connected in the 2016 Cadillac CT6 with a rear seat infotainment system. The two 10-inch-diagonal screens are located behind the two front seats. Innovative Design:
The dual screens are located within the two front seats. They are designed to retract when the rear seats are not in use and can be controlled within a series of ports in the center console. The two screens can also tilt, making it easier for passengers to view the screen.

Summer Car Care Tips

MT. PLEASANT, Mich.– To say winters here in Michigan are hard on our vehicles is an intense understatement. What many Michiganders don't know is that summer can be JUST AS TOUGH on your vehicle as winter. Intense heat can destroy batteries, and put stress on the tires and cooling system. Thanks to the lowest summer gas prices since 2009, many Americans will be hitting the road this summer for vacation. By making sure your vehicle is running smoothly you can avoid breakdowns or car problems that will definitely put a thorn in your summer plans. To insure a safe trip you may want to check out these summer car care tips:

• The greatest cause of summer breakdowns is cooling system failure. The cooling system should be completely flushed out and refilled every two years. Be sure that you understand the level, condition and concentration of the coolant should also be checked periodically, especially when it first starts to warm up after the long winter. 

• Your brakes have been working hard all winter, make sure they're okay! Your brakes have kept you from sliding off the road since January, so make sure they are up to par before you head out this summer. If you notice pulsations, grabbing noises or longer stopping distances, bring your vehicle to a certified technician ASAP. 

• Maintain and check up on your air conditioning. Nothing, and we mean NOTHING, is worse than the air conditioning going out in the middle of the summer. Driving around in a car when it's 80+ degrees out is hard enough on your vehicle. Take out the air conditioning and good luck trying to go anywhere fast. Even a marginally operating system will fail in the hot weather, so have your air conditioning checked out by a qualified technician. 

• Check your windshield wipers. Your windshield wipers have been working overtime since January. A dirty windshield causes eye fatigue and can also pose a safety hazard. Replace worn windshield wiper blades and have plenty of windshield wiper fluid handy. 

• Heat zaps life away from your battery.  Many car owners believe that battery problems only occur in the winter, which could not be further from the truth. Heat and vibration are the two WORST things for a car battery, and ultimately lead to engine failure. If your car's battery is more than three years old, have it checked by a certified technician before heading out on the road.
