Chevrolet Took the Lead in J.D. Power Initial Quality Study

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – After being put to the test, Chevrolet took the lead in J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study for the fourth consecutive year in a row. Out of the brands tested, no one had more awards than Chevrolet. Five of Chevy’s vehicles were awarded for their high quality and dependability in their segments. Take a look at the Chevrolet winners:

Full Size Truck Segment: Chevrolet Silverado 1500 received top remarks for light duty trucks, and the Silverado HD received top remarks for heavy duty trucks.

Compact SUV Segment: The Chevrolet Equinox tied for the lead, and resulted in 15 points better than the segment average.

Large SUV Segment: Chevrolet’s Tahoe received top remarks and resulted in 19 points above the segment average.

City Car Segment: The leading contender in this segment was the Chevrolet Spark, having a dominating 48 points higher than the segment average.

The J.D. Power Initial Quality Study researches vehicles over a 90 day period. The study is devised into eight different categories including: exterior, interior, seats, driving experience, engine/transmission, and more. The initial quality is determined by the number of problems that are experienced every 10 vehicles. The model with the lowest score reflects the highest quality. These tests were fielded from February to May of 2016 when Chevrolet took the lead in J.D. Power Initial Quality Study.

Chevrolet Continues to Grow in the Commercial Vehicle Market

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – At the end of April Chevrolet announced the pricing for a low cab forward medium duty truck. It's just the beginning for growth for the automaker, as Chevrolet continues to grow in the commercial vehicle market. These new medium duty trucks are available for purchase at dealerships that are highly focused on commercial businesses. The pricing for the commercial trucks vary depending on gasoline or diesel engines and Chevrolet is including a destination charge with the cost of the vehicle (excluding tax, title, license and other fees). Gasoline engines are starting at $40,900, where as diesel engines will be starting at $48,375.

Chevrolet has not approached the commercial vehicle market lightly. The new low cab forward trucks will have seven new models including: Chevrolet 3500, 3500HD, 4500, 4500HD, 4500XD, 5500HD, and 5500XD. These seven different models are offered in regular-cab and crew-cab body styles. They also come with a 6-speed automatic transmission offered in either a 6.0L V-8 gas engine, 3.0L turbo-diesel engine, or a 5.2L turbo-diesel engine. 

  

Additional to the strength behind the engine models, the forward medium-duty trucks will offer multiple features. The trucks are made for excellent visibility and maneuverability in urban environments as well as easy driver entry and exit. The trucks are also built for easy-access to the engine compartment with a 45-degree-tilting cab, and have wheelbases ranging from 109 – 212 inches. Drivers will also love the compatibility of the different body types including refrigerated or dry freight boxes, stake/flat beds, and service bodies.
