The 2017 Chevrolet Colorado is an improvement on the already most fuel efficient truck in America (diesel). The wider gear ratio in the new 8-speed transmission allows drivers to feel more confident in taking off with a heavy load in the bed or a heavy trailer behind, and reduced engine rpm on the highway for better fuel efficiency.
Drivers will experience better pick-up when accelerating, and a more consistently smooth driving feel. For situations like passing a vehicle on the highway or towing a trailer up a steep hill, the Colorado provides confidence thanks to the new engine and transmission. Chevrolet hopes this advanced engine offering will boost Colorado sales to meet their 160,000 unit/24 month goal, and reigniting the midsize segment
