An All-Star MVP, the 2019 Camaro, and Chevrolet Inspire Kids Through Baseball

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. -- The 2018 Ted Williams Most Valuable Player, Alex Bregman of the Houston Astros, was given his choice of either the all-new 2019 Chevrolet Camaro SS or the trail-ready Colorado ZR2. He chose the redesigned Camaro during the All-Star Game MVP ceremony hosted by Chevrolet earlier this month at Nationals Park in Washington.

This year's All-Star Game was Bregman's first appearance as a participant, during which he hit the game-winning home run for the American league.

“Bregman set a great example for baseball fans and especially our kids by hustling hard for the entire game and demonstrating exceptional teamwork — essential qualities to win on the field, in the classroom, and in life — and that is why Chevrolet is proud to present the MVP award,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet.

Since 2005, Chevrolet has been the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball and is also an Official Partner of Play Ball, a collective effort by the MLB to encourage young people to get involved in baseball and softball. Through the Chevrolet Youth Baseball program in partnership with dealerships across the country, Chevrolet has donated more than 150,000 equipment kits, raised more than $36 million, and offered more than 1,800 free skills clinics - all of which has positively impacted more than 7 million boys and girls across the United States.

“At Chevrolet, we appreciate the positive effect that playing sports has on our kids, and that is why it is so important for our brand and our dealers to support baseball at every level,” said Sweeney.

5 Tips for Keeping Your Pets Safe in Hot Weather

5 Tips for Keeping Your Pets Safe in Hot Weather

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. -- Considering the super hot and dry conditions we've been experiencing lately, we at Graff Mt. Pleasant feel that it's a great time to remind you that you're not the only one who needs to stay cool! Like humans, dogs are very susceptible to the same risks as we are when it comes to hot weather. Although, they need a little more of your help to beat the heat. Here are five tips to keep your four-legged friend safe when the temperatures rise!

5 Tips for Keeping Your Pets Safe in Hot Weather

1. KEEP THEM HYDRATED

Water is just as important to our dogs' survival as it is to our own, as it's responsible for the proper function of every cell and organ in their bodies! If your dog spends a lot of time outside, make sure you put their water bowl out there with them and check it regularly. While on walks, bring a bottle of water along for them as well as for yourself, and stop for breaks!

5 Tips for Keeping Your Pets Safe in Hot Weather

2. WATCH OUT FOR HEATSTROKE

Dogs with shorter noses (such as boxers, pugs, Shar-Peis, Boston terriers, Brussels griffins, mastiffs, chow-chows, bulldogs, Shih Tzus, Staffordshire terriers, Lhasa apsos, and spaniels) and senior dogs are especially susceptible to heatstroke. Symptoms include excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, fever, vomiting, and collapse. Remember: they can't tell you if something is wrong. Keep an eye on them while they're outside and when they come in, and get them to a vet as soon as possible if anything seems off!

5 Tips for Keeping Your Pets Safe in Hot Weather

3. DON'T LEAVE THEM IN THE CAR

Every summer, many dogs die because they were left in their owners' hot car, but it is avoidable! A 75-degree day can feel like 150 to your friend in the fur coat, and the temperature inside a car can quickly rise an additional 20 degrees to that within the first 10 minutes - even with the windows rolled down. The number one way you can avoid losing your buddy is by using good judgment. If its way too hot outside, leave your dog at home in a cool place.

5 Tips for Keeping Your Pets Safe in Hot Weather

4. HAVE MORE WAYS TO KEEP COOL

In order to help your pup beat the heat, offer them more ways to keep cool at home! Fill up a kiddie pool in the backyard for them to splash around in, leave a fan in a place where they can lay in front of it, or get them a treat like doggy ice cream from your local pet bakery!

5 Tips for Keeping Your Pets Safe in Hot Weather

5. AVOID HOT SURFACES

When taking your dog for a walk or letting them outside, try to avoid hot surfaces like pavement whenever possible. You know how your feet burn off when you walk on a hot sidewalk? Well, you have the luxury of putting on shoes. Try to go for walks in the park where they can walk on grass, and lay out a rug along their path if your house's backdoor doesn't immediately open up to the yard.

At Graff Mt. Pleasant, we love our dogs as much as we love our cars. And that's a whole lot! We want you and your pet to be safe this summer, and we hope the information we've provided here is helpful to do just that. While you're at it, why not stop by our service department for a summer tune-up? We're always happy to help with anything you need!

The New 2019 Chevrolet Volt Cuts Charging Time in Half

2019 Chevrolet Volt

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – Drivers are about to get more out of the new 2019 Chevy Volt! The new 2019 Chevrolet Volt is cutting charging times in half and is adding twice the all-electric driving range per hour of charge. The new 7.2 kW charging system allows for an increase in the all-electric utility, which is particularly beneficial for drivers who plug in while traveling around town, known as “opportunity charging.”

“With about twice the range added during 240V Level 2 charging sessions, the 2019 Volt’s 7.2 kW system makes opportunity charging more worthwhile,” said Jesse Ortega, chief engineer, Chevrolet Electric Vehicles. “It effectively extends the vehicle’s all-electric driving range, while providing about twice the range for the money when plugging in at public facilities that charge by the hour.”

In as little as 2.3 hours, with a 240-volt outlet, a complete recharge can take place with the new 7.2 kW system which comes standard on all 2019 Chevrolet Volt Premier models, and is available as an upgrade on the LT trim.

Plus, when it comes to the new 2019 Chevrolet Volt, drivers will enjoy an EPA-estimated 53 miles of pure EV range and 106 MPGe (gasoline equivalent) with a full charge and a full tank of gas. The gas-powered generator begins working once the battery of the Volt begins to run low, which then extends the driving range to 420 miles on a full tank.

While the driving range and charge times are two important factors when it comes to the Chevy Volt, the 2019 Volt also offers a good number of other exciting features. If you are driving in a colder climate, where you wish to use less gas, the 2019 Volt allows you to defer activation of its automatic engine-assisted heating system until much lower temperatures (-13 degrees F/-25 degrees C). It also offers a smoother ride through regenerative braking capability with the Low and Regen on Demand profiles, which therefore allows the vehicle to reach its class-leading EV range. Additionally, the 2019 Volt's in-car tech has been upgraded with the Chevy Infotainment 3 system that incorporates a new Energy App within the 8-inch color touchscreen. Through the app, drivers can ensure they are getting the best performance out of their vehicle by better understanding how their route, driving style, cabin comfort, and weather conditions may be impacting their range via mileage, rather than by numerical "score" as in the past..

Design-wise the 2019 Chevy Volt is bringing both interior and exterior upgrades to the streets. The interior of the vehicle is becoming more digital with front and rear speakers that will alert drivers when operating at slow speeds, a digital rearview camera, a slight horn alert when the full pressure of a tire is achieved, a wireless charging pad that is relocated ahead of the shifter for easier use (available with navigation radio), and new cruise control options where the driver can select Adaptive Cruise Control or conventional cruise control. A first for the Volt, is the introduction of a power driver's seat which will come standard on the Premier model and will be available on the LT models. On the exterior, the 2019 Volt will offer a new Pacific Blue exterior color, as well as a new Jet Black/Porcelain Blue interior on the Premier version. Or, if you're looking for something more sleek, opt for the dealer-installed blackout package for black front/rear bowtie emblems, sport pedals, and 17-inch machined-aluminum wheels with black-painted pockets.

Volt owners have been able to drive over 2.8 billion EV miles, which saves more than 108 million gasoline gallons. You could join those already making a difference, by taking home a new Chevy Volt from at Graff Mt. Pleasant? Our experienced professionals can help you find the best vehicle that suits your needs. 2019 Chevy Blazer

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – You may remember the Chevrolet Blazer from years past. You may have even thought that it was gone for good. However, think again. IT'S BACK! This time around, Chevy is introducing a whole new type of Blazer that is set to redefine everything. The new 2019 Chevy Blazer sports an attention-grabbing design with great functionality and amazing customer-focused technologies. Not only will this new Chevy feature muscular styling and strong grille, the SUV will offer different models including the up-level Premier model and sporty RS model.

The new 2019 Chevrolet Blazer will not disappoint when it hits the road. Featuring five-passenger seating and an adjustable sliding rear seat, the car delivers 64.2 cubic feet of cargo space with flat folded second-row seats. The Chevy-first cargo management system features a cargo fence and rail system so you can take everything with you, no matter where you're headed. “Chevrolet has been at the forefront of each of the major automotive industry trends by anticipating consumer demand and delivering innovative products like Bolt EV, Colorado and Trax,” Batey said. “The introduction of the all-new Blazer builds on that momentum and further strengthens the most comprehensive lineup of crossovers and SUVs on the market today.”

Global Chevrolet Design Executive Director, John Cafaro, said this is because of the attitude the Blazer has.
