Domino’s New Delivery Car is a 2015 Chevy Spark

Domino’s New Delivery Car is a 2015 Chevy Spark

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – Your pizza delivery just got an upgrade! Domino’s new delivery car is a 2015 Chevy Spark. They’re calling the new vehicle Domino’s DXP (Delivery Expert).

Domino’s new delivery car is a 2015 Chevy Spark because of its driver experience, ability to maneuver in any space, and fuel economy. The best part is pizza drivers will be equipped with OnStar navigation so they’ll never get lost on the way to their destination.

The Domino’s DXP will have warming ovens on the sides and the back of the vehicle will have a storage space big enough for 80 pizzas. Replacing the seats in the back will be special pockets for napkins, dipping sauces, and drinks.

The idea for the vehicle came from Domino’s Ultimate Delivery Vehicle Challenge and was produced with a partnership between Domino’s and Roush Enterprises. Once Domino’s deploys the vehicle across the nation, Chevy dealers will get special training to reproduce the fleet of special DXPs.

Chevrolet is excited to partner with Domino’s because it shows the versatility of their vehicles and the how the technology can be used in different ways. Domino’s is happy to deliver pizza to its customers in a more innovative and efficient way.

There will be 100 DXPs deployed in 25 markets around the U.S. The first are expected to go out this month.

Halloween Safety Tips For Trick or Treating

Halloween Safety Tips For Trick or Treating

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – Have you carved your pumpkin, stocked up on candy, and finalized your costume yet? Halloween is almost here and with it brings the excitement of endless sweet treats for little trick or treaters everywhere! However, the holiday also poses the threat for some frightening situations. Make sure your kids stay safe this year with a few simple, but extremely important Halloween Safety Tips for Trick or Treating from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Halloween Safety Tips for Trick or Treating:
  • Be seen and heard! Choose bright, flame-retardant costumes that have reflective material, or add reflective tape, so that your trick or treater can be seen in the dark. Make sure they also have a flashlight or glow stick before the sun sets.
  • Always stick with a trick or treating route that is in a familiar area with neighbors you trust! Avoid unfamiliar neighborhoods, isolated streets, and houses that are not well lit.
  • Even if you are familiar with the neighborhood, never allow young children to go out alone! Always make sure they are accompanied by a parent or other trusted adult, and that you walk them up to the door, never letting them go inside unless you are there.
  • While older children probably don't want you to go out with them, make sure they understand the importance of traveling in groups.
  • You'll likely see a lot of cars out on Halloween, but never let your children approach a vehicle, whether it's occupied or not, unless you are right there with them.
  • Basic pedestrian safety rules are also important since trick or treating involves walking from house to house and crossing many streets, especially in the dark.
  • A great alternative to trick or treating that still celebrates the fun in Halloween, would be to organize a neighborhood or community party where everyone can gather in a safe and supervised environment.
  • In any situation, it is important that children know their home phone number, address, and how to dial 911 in an emergency if they do become separated.
  • Before children head out on Halloween, or anywhere for that matter, make sure they understand the importance of being aware of their surroundings, and that they need to report any suspicious activity to their parents or law enforcement.
  • Should they ever get into a dangerous situation where someone tries to get them to go somewhere or leave with them, make sure they understand that they should shout "NO!" or "This is not my mother/father!" and to make every effort to get away by kicking, screaming, and resisting.

Every year kids set out on Halloween to collect as much candy as they possibly can, it's just important that we educate our children on how to stay safe with a few simple tips. Remember that with your OnStar subscription in any new Chevy cars or new Chevy trucks from Graff Mt. Pleasant, all you have to do is push the red emergency button at any time to report information regarding an AMBER alert or lost child.

Chevrolet Partnered With LG to Develop the New Bolt EV

Chevrolet Partnered With LG to Develop the New Bolt EV

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – General Motors made another huge stride in the electric vehicle field, and not by themselves. Chevrolet partnered with LG to develop the new Bolt EV set for release in 2017.

The Bolt EV is the first ever long-range electric car that’s affordable for car buyers. Chevrolet partnered with LG to develop the new Bolt EV and combined their skills in infotainment, battery systems, component development, electric motor designs, and battery control.

Here’s what you’re going to get with the Chevrolet Bolt EV:
  • Electric Drive Motor (built from GM design)
  • Power Inverter Module (converts DC power to AC for the drive unit)
  • On Board Charger
  • Electric Climate Control System Compressor
  • Battery Cells and Pack
  • High Power Distribution Module (controls the flow of high voltage to a number of components)
  • Battery Heater
  • Accessory Power Module (maintains low-voltage power to accessories)
  • Power Line Communication Module (regulates communication between vehicle and a DC charging station)
  • Instrument Cluster
  • Infotainment System

Engineers for the Bolt EV took a lot of time to decide on the design, driving range, and performance capabilities before coming to the final decision that they wanted an affordable long-range electric vehicle. The Bolt EV can go 200-plus miles on a single charge. This vehicle keeps Chevrolet the leading car company in electric cars.

LG is proud to partner with GM for the simple fact that they are now a big player in next-generation vehicle technologies. They invested over $250 million for an engineering and manufacturing factory in Korea to support the production of the Bolt EV components.

Production of the Chevrolet Bolt EV will begin in late 2016. Until then, if you're in the market for a new Chevy car or new Chevy truck you can stop by our Chevrolet dealer near Big Rapids, MI.

GM Launches New Car Sharing Program

GM’s New Car-Sharing Program

MT.PLEASANT, Mich. – A big change in the city for New Yorkers! It’s not worth having a car in the city because of the hassle and cost, but GM launched a new car-sharing program called Let’s Drive NYC, and it's the perfect solution.

GM has paired with The Ritz Plaza, a 479-unit apartment building, and Icon Parking, owner of 200 parking structures in the city, to design their new car-sharing program, Let’s Drive NYC.

The only people eligible to use GM’s new car-sharing program are the residents of The Ritz Plaza. Each has a GM-developed app on their phone that will reserve a vehicle and parking for them within the city. Options for vehicles are 10 Chevrolet cars including eight Trax and two Equinox, but more are to be added later.

Considering the lease payments of the residents, The Ritz Plaza has given credit for three hours of rental per month. Any additional time will cost renters less than $10 an hour and up to $75 for a 24-hour reservation.

The Ritz Plaza is proud to make the lifestyle of its residents better and easier with GM, a leader with an urban mobility strategy. GM also has car-sharing programs with partners in China and Germany so they can better understand and continue to address problems with urban transportation.

We’ll have to wait a little longer until we get a car-sharing program of our own in Michigan, but until then check out our new Chevy cars for sale. We can also take care of your oil changes and any other auto service you need at our dealership near Big Rapids.

Routine Maintenance on Your Car

Routine Maintenance on Your Car

MT.PLEASANT, MI – Get out your sweaters Michigan, because fall is here! Which only means that winter is right around the corner. While some people are sad to see the summer go and some are rejoicing for snow it’s important do routine maintenance on your car this season. Fall is a great time to take care of your car because you need to prepare it for winter, but it’s not too cold out yet. We have a few simple things you should be doing at least once or twice a year to keep your car running perfect all year-round.

1. Change your wiper blades – Your wiper blades should normally be replaced once every year. It’s best to change them before the colder weather comes because they’ll take more wear and tear from road and snow debris then. You might even want heavier duty ones for the winter. Replacing wiper blades is super easy. You just need the right sized blades for your car – be careful, because some cars have two different sizes – and then just snap them into place.

2. Check your spare tire – You don’t want to be that person on the side of the road shivering from the cold waiting for roadside assistance because your spare doesn’t work correctly. All you need is a tire pressure gauge – which you should keep in your glove box at all times. It takes 30 seconds to do and saves you a lot of time in the long run. Just so you’re aware your pressure drops one PSI (pound per square inch) every 10-degrees the weather drops, which we know changes everyday in Michigan.

3. Check and top off fluids – By fluids we mean your windshield-washer fluid and brake-fluid. Your windshield wiper fluid should have antifreeze in it for the winter so you can deice your car quicker. To check both fluids you need to find the required minimum that is located on the side of the containers and then fill it to the right amount. Make sure you double-check that you’re putting the right fluid in the right area. Dangerous things will happen if you mix them.

4. Change your air filter – The engine air filters should be replaced at least twice per year. The dirtier these filters get the less airflow you have and your car performance decreases significantly. You can find a replacement filter at any auto store. All you need to do is find the air filter cover, take out the old filter, replace it with the new one, and put the cover back on.

5. Check your battery and lights – Check your battery by looking for any corrosion around the connections. If there’s anything there, unplug the connections and use a special brush to clean the bad areas. Make sure you plug them back in tightly when you’re done. Check your lights by having a friend walk around your car while you turn them on and off. Not only is this a safety hazard for you and other drivers, but you can also get a ticket if your lights don’t work properly.

All of these items are pretty simple to complete and you can do them all on your own. Save yourself some time and money and perform routine maintenance on your car once or twice a year. It will also keep you and other drivers safer on the road.

If there’s any auto care that you need help with come into our service center near Big Rapids, MI. We can help you with your oil changes, car repairs, and car parts. Visit us at your Graff Mt. Pleasant Chevy Dealership located at 4580 E Pickard Rd in Mount Pleasant, Michigan 48858 or our Buick GMC Cadillac Dealership located at 116 N. Mission St in Mount Pleasant, MI 48858.
