2015 Chevrolet Silverado Toughnology Concept Truck

2015 Chevrolet Silverado Toughnology Concept Truck

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – Chevy truck fans, we've got some exciting news for you! The automaker has been shaking things up at the Texas State Fair and at SEMA with the new 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Toughnology Concept Truck release! Haven't heard about it yet? Let us fill you in!

The 2014 Silverado was named North American Truck of the Year, but Chevy knows that in today's competitive pickup truck market, you can never stop innovating. Keeping performance, capability, and safety top of mind, the automaker developed the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Toughnology Concept Truck to outshine every other truck on the market! Designed with high-strength steel, a simulated raw steel appearance, and advanced connectivity, the Silverado Toughnology Concept is lighter, stronger, and more efficient than conventional vehicles made of carbon steel.

However, Chevrolet also knew that it was key to utilize materials that offered customers strength and capability, but more importantly, value. That's where high-strength steel comes in since it offers the same strength as carbon steel, but up to 30% lighter! Plus, it is also significantly less expensive than aluminum which benefits the vehicle's end price.

Through the use of high-strength steel, the Silverado Toughnology Concept offers light-weight capability and greater efficiency. The performance ratings don't lie – the EcotTec3 5.3L V-8 engine offers an EPA-estimated 23 mpg on the highway and maximum trailering capacity of 11,200 pounds, while the available 6.2L V-8 engine and eight-speed automatic transmission increases trailering capacity to 12,000 pounds!

Dressed in a raw steel appearance and black accents, the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Toughnology concept truck features:
  • Chevrolet Accessory 22-inch wheels mounted on off-road tires
  • Chevrolet Accessories grille insert
  • Tubular assist steps
  • Soft, folding tonneau cover
  • Washable carpet bedliner
  • Fender flares
  • Tinted headlamp lenses
  • OnStar 4G LTE with built-in WiFi hotspot
  • Wireless phone charging mat
  • Performance exhaust system
  • Upgraded performance brakes

While the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Toughnology truck is still in the concept phase, General Motor's available truck line is just as impressive.
