Everything You Need to Know About No-Shave November

MT. PLEASANT, Mich -- Thanksgiving, football, and Christmas shopping is what usually comes to mind when you think November, but it's also No-Shave November! In the fall of 2009, the Hill family decided to honor their father who had passed away from colon cancer by creating the No-Shave November project. It started as an easy way for their Facebook followers to donate funds to cancer research, and in recent years has exploded into a nationwide celebration. Here at Graff Mt. Pleasant we're here to give you all the facts and information you need to do No-Shave November right.

The basic idea of No-Shave November is pretty self explanatory, forgo your usual grooming routine and embrace your hair for the many cancer patients that lose theirs due to intense treatments. However, in order to participate in No-Shave November in it's intended form, there's a little more work involved. 

Donate the cash you would usually use on razors, shaving cream, or salon grooming towards one of the three organizations funded by the No-Shave November project: Prevent Cancer Foundation, Fight Colorectal Cancer, and the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

These simple steps may not seem like they create much of a difference but every small act counts! In the course of this initiative's short history they've raised over $2 million dollars towards men's cancer research, and that's how we enact change. By banding together, and spreading awareness...one unshaved beard at a time.

Chevrolet is Making Strides Against Breast Cancer This Month

MT. PLEASANT, Mich.––This month is all about changing leaves, fall weather, pumpkin carving, Halloween, and spooky fun, but the most important thing we celebrate during October is Breast Cancer Awareness. There are always pink things, ribbons, and breast cancer charity events galore in support of a very prevalent disease. We couldn't be more proud that one of GM's finest brands, Chevrolet, is making strides against Breast Cancer this month by partnering with the American Cancer Society.

This year marks the sixth year that Chevrolet will be working with the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks. This means Chevrolet and its participating dealerships around the United States will be participating in or sponsoring these walks and taking other steps to engage customers and employees through other activities. This past Ladies Day, we donated money for Breast Cancer research for each auto service purchased.

There are a few ways you can get involved and support Breast Cancer with Chevrolet this month. 

1. Use the Hashtag #IDriveFor on social media.
You can use this hashtag on Twitter or Instagram! Tag @Chevrolet and include the hashtag with your post and Chevy will donate $5 (up to $500,000).

2. Participate in a Making Strides walk!
Get some fresh air, exercise, and have fun for a good cause. You can find a local walk on the American Cancer Society Making Strides website.

3. Watch NASCAR
Check out the NASCAR Sprint Cup Races on October 23rd and 30th at Talladega Speedway where Chevy will have a pink pace car that will collect $350 for each caution lap taken (up to $50,000). At these races Breast Cancer survivors and caregivers will get the chance for a special track experience.
