The optional frontal crash prevention system, emergency braking, and pedestrian detection evaluation also received good ratings.  

"We equipped the XT5 with Cadillac's full set of driver awareness and driver assistance systems to aid collision avoidance," Paul Spadafora, XT5 chief engineer, said in a statement. "Just as importantly, we designed an advanced structure that is both stiffer and lighter, for excellent crashworthiness.
